In the old days the Dayaks of Borneo wore very little clothing to cover their bodies. Instead they decorated their naked bodies with beautiful and mystical tattoo. They were very proud of their bodies and tattoo. It was the fashion, the craze of the fashion trends and lifestyle of their time. This is the first part of 3 parts on total body tattoo; the Dayak whole body fashion in body ink. The first part illustrates the painful tattoo on the throat that symbolizes bravery and the achievement of real manhood. This has not been done in Maimi Ink and LA Ink. It is painful because of the portruding small bones of the throat. In the old Dayak time, a man who has taken a human head is qualify to have this tattoo. Young women in the longhouses would compete to get his attention and hope to be his wife.
